Margaret M. Buye, 95 of Mauston passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Cottage Care Circle, Mauston.
Margaret Buye was born March 6, 1917 in Kildare Township, Juneau County Wisconsin, the daughter of Emil and Ida (Klockow) Dallman. She attended Country school and was a 1934 graduate of Mauston High School. She worked at Steiner Bros. Creamery and Liqua Dry Milk Company for a number of years. On Sept. 21 1939 she married Roland Steiner at St. Patrick Church in Mauston. In 1953 they built Clearview Resort and they built 10 housekeeping cottages which they rented out during the summer months. They retired on about 20 acres of land on Hwy. N near Lyndon Station. They built a new home and pole barn on the land where Roland raised corn, soybeans and a large garden. Margaret belonged to Sevenweir Homemakers and served as President and other offices of the Club. Roland passed away with lung cancer, March 7, 1985. On Sept. 19, 1987 Margaret married Stanley Buye at St. Mary's Church in Lyndon Station and went to live at his home on Castle Rock Lake. They spent their winters in Florida at their home near Englewood, Florida. Eventually they sold their Florida home and resided permanently in WI. On Feb. 16, 2004 Stanley passed away and Margaret moved to Lincoln Street Apartments in Mauston, In Nov. 2008 Margaret moved to Elroy and lived with her niece, Karen Nelson until she went to live at Cottage Care Circle.
Margaret served as Germantown Treasurer for many years, was President and Secretary of Our Lady of the Lake Women's Club for a time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and one brother, Arthur Dallman.
She is survived by step children - Art Buye, New Lisbon, Sue Anne Marple and Steve (Nina) Buye of Florida, nieces and nephews Blanche Dallman, Joanne (Ken) Curless, Karen (Calvin) Nelson, Gene (Joan) Dallman, Robert (Linda) Dallman, other nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Mauston, where friend may call from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
Burial will be at St. Patrick Cemetery.
